How Does Using PLR Help Me Build My Business ?

Private Label Rights are licenses that can be purchased granting you ownership of content. In our case, we will be talking about digital or online content. Purchasing the rights to content usually consist of Using PLReBooks, articles, blog posts, and sometimes eCourses and videos. Using PLR is a great way for a person to take over ownership of content that they did not create.

Who Should Use PLR?

This can be especially helpful for a new marketer who is just getting started online, or someone who knows the value of putting out valuable material on a consistent basis. Someone who is learning can use PLR material to assemble a library of info products for example. Anyone that knows the importance of self-branding and providing value to the marketplace may find leverage in using PLR to get themselves started. They will learn as they go, become known for providing useful material, and establish themselves as a good go-to person for information.

Choose PLR That Is Relevant To Your Chosen Niche

If you are studying internet marketing and brand recognition online then you may have learned about the benefits to having or choosing a particular niche or topic that you stay within and focus on. Therefore you would want to acquire content within that niche. There are many to choose from but it’s a good idea to stay within an area that you are already familiar with or have knowledge or interest in. This will help you graduate from using PLR and go on to creating your own content quicker. Your niche can be anything. Health related or finance related, or marketing related, or anything else.

Learn Where and How To Find High-Quality PLR

If you google your niche you will always find content and you will most likely bump into some PLR content before too long. You don’t have to grab the first thing you find…it may be low-quality material or overpriced. Do some searching and studying and look for PLR writers or providers who have a professional presence online. There are also some well-known websites that a lot of affiliate marketers use for selling their digital products, some of which will be PLR. JVZoo, Warrior Forum, Warrior Plus, ClickBank, and MunchEye are just a few that come to mind. After a while, you’ll begin to recognize familiar names and you’ll acquire some favorites.

Repackaging Your PLR

This is important. You are establishing an identity and a brand online. Therefore you want to find your own voice and your own style. Don’t use PLR as it is, repackage it instead. There are many ways to repackage content, but even if you just rewrite an article using your own words to say the same thing, you are then making it yours and giving it your own voice. Spin it, repackage it, rewrite it, make it yours. This is a great way to learn the content and to perfect your writing or video skills.

Use Your Content To Build Your ListUsing PLR

Take a piece of your new PLR content that has value, and use it as a barter for another person’s email address. This is how you build a list. It could be just an article, or a short email or newsletter series. Even the first chapter of an eBook works very well for this. As long as it has value and is enticing you can offer it in exchange for an email address. You can also learn how to develop an attractive lead capture page for promoting your freebie. Once you have an email list then you can promote higher value information products to that list. Some may be free, and some you might want to sell.

Using PLR As A Guide To Getting You Started

This is something that you will want to get better at as you go, and I spoke of it briefly already above. I use PLR to simply get me started and help me get my creative juices flowing. Using other people’s ideas and beginning words is often times enough for me to then just take off with it. It truly becomes mine as it doesn’t even resemble the original by the time I’m done with it. In fact, when you get good at this you can use any material it does not have to be PLR because you are simply using the other person’s content as research. You are doing the actual writing in your own thoughts, your own words, and your own style. It is yours. The original simply helped you with the idea and helped you get started, and you take it from there.

After I write my articles I continue to repackage, creating videos and audios, blog posts, facebook posts, and eBooks. I’ll even take it further and use a paragraph or an idea from my original, and drill down into that one subject and write about it in more detail. You can rewrite a good article many times over and have it become new original content every time.

So you see, using PLR can be a very effective and efficient way for building your brand online.

Do you want to blog, but you’re just not good at it?

Does your writing have much to be desired?

Relax, it’s ok … it’s not so uncommon. In fact, it’s really quite common.

Some people just hate to write. They are not good at it. They write anyway, because they want to blog, but it just stinks. It’s not readable. It looks and sounds like a mumble jumble mess. Sound familiar?

Others love to write… they are good at it… but maybe too good. They could write a novel, but is that good for a blog post? Stories are awesome, but is the reader staying on the page? Is it captivating enough to keep their attention? Are you getting your message across?

Your writing has to be readable for the common man (or woman).

People love to scan…. they are busy….they are in a hurry but have a few quick minutes to see what you have to say. So how do we keep those eyeballs on our blog post’s long enough to get the message across? How can we present this in a friendly way so as not to lose our readers?

I think this is something that a lot of people deal with…they want to blog, and so when I came across some great content on this very subject I got to thinking, and decided to share it with you in a blog post.

Question: “You want to blog, but do you think you need to spend hours and hours perfecting your writing skills?” The answer…probably not. In fact you might need to dumb it down some. The solution may be a lot easier than you expect. Writing less and styling your text so it’s easy to read could be all you need to do to attract and hold attention.

To write successfully for the web, you need to forget some of what you learned in English composition class, accept that people scan web pages rather than reading them in detail, and work with this reality rather than fighting it.

If you want to cover a complex topic, consider breaking it into a series of posts. It’s a great way to keep people coming back for more, and your reader will find it easier to digest your content if they get it in portion-controlled sizes.

Here’s a few simple ways to simplify your writing and to get more people to stay on your page and read ALL your content.

1) Use the line break.

It’s an easy way to make your content more readable. Lots of white space makes it easier on the eyeballs. Feature one idea per paragraph, and keep them short — three or four sentences at most.

And try writing some paragraphs with one sentence only.

2) Break up the content with subheads.

Subheads help keep the reader engaged, acting as “mini headlines” to keep them moving through the rest of your content, and give clarity to the content.

3) Use bullet lists

  • They create eye magnets your readers can’t resist
  • They’re an easily-scannable way to present multiple points
  • They look different, so they provide a visual break

Images Draw Attention and Eyeballs

4) Use images with captions.

Images draw attention and eyeballs, and are known to intrigue the reader making your content more interesting to them.

5) Add relevant links

Internal links back to your own content will keep people on your site and reading your best material, and external links demonstrate that you’ve researched the topic and want to highlight other experts.

Good content uses both to expand your reader’s understanding, adds value, and helps with SEO indexing.

6) Use formatting

Add emphasis to your web copy by bolding important concepts. You reader will be able to scan through and pick out the most important information at a glance.

Don’t highlight everything (which would have the same effect as highlighting nothing). Instead, emphasize the key points so the scanner can quickly pick them out.

7) Use numbered lists

Numbers are an effective way to both capture attention and to keep the reader engaged. You can often make a post more compelling just by numbering your main points. Give it a try.

8) Don’t hype

Forget about the caps, exclamation marks, multi-colored font, and pitching your deal. Your blog post is not a billboard and it’s not a classified ad. Think instead about teaching, educating, motivating, explaining, sharing, telling stories, sharing testimonies, and offering help. Calls to Action are not hype, and are ok, and even recommended, if not overdone.

and finally …proofread. Do you find it easy to read and understand. Will the reader keep from getting lost, and will they get the main points. Does it look like something you would want to stumble across online and would it captivate your attention.

So for those that want to blog, practice these simple steps and you’ll be a blogging pro in no time.

I hope you received some value from this. Please feel free to leave a comment or two

Personal Branding – it is the bedrock to your long term success on the internet.

Is all your hard earned money and time going towards branding someone else?

Do you know the importance of establishing your own personal brand on the internet?Personal Branding JPG

In todays post we will cover why branding yourself is vital to your business, both online and off.

As I was studying direct response marketing and internet marketing, I kept on hearing everyone say over and over again how personal branding and building your own list are the two most important things you have to be doing if you want to have long-term success.

I did learn very quickly that the goal of all my marketing efforts had to be to get my prospects to give me their contact information, and I knew that there were several different ways to do this, such as offering a free newsletter on my website…or putting together a series of messages and turning it into a free “e-course” , a free ebook, or a series of audio interviews, just to name a few.

The thing I didn’t realize was just exactly how important it was to establish myself as the expert… be it the expert on the topic, or the expert at finding and sharing the information. After all, having a group of people who have given you their permission to stay in touch with them is literally a marketers dream come true, and allows you to sell to them ten times or even a hundred times instead of having just a one-time interaction that goes nowhere. If someone visits your site and then leaves, the chances of them ever coming back are not good.

Personal Branding jpegPersonal Branding is the secret to building your list. When people know you and trust you, then they will subscribe to you.

Educational marketing is an excellent method for gaining people’s trust, their contact information, and their permission to send them more information. Providing knowledge and assistance, that will help them, and that they can use in building their own business, is often times priceless for that person and will establish loyalty back in return. This is personal branding at it’s finest.

Another great thing about having a list that trusts and respects your advice is the doors it opens for you. It gives you a ton of freedom and flexibility because you can pick and choose what you want to promote. If a certain product or company is no longer performing, no problem. You can replace it with something else. If you find a new product that really adds value to your prospect’s lives, you can promote that too. Building a subscriber list of loyal prospects/customers is one of, if not the most profitable ways you can monetize your business.

Every action you take should center around branding yourself, not someone else. If you’re doing anything online and you’re not building your own list, you’re making someone elses dream come true. All your effort and hard work you are giving away to another list owner. Are you building an organization with an MLM company, or with any company for that matter?  Think your organization is your customer list? Think again. It’s someone’s list… but not yours. Build YOUR organization through YOU first.Personal Branding JPEG

Can your organization be part of your list? Absolutely. How? By making them your customers first before anyone else’s. Which, of course, is done through your own website. I’m talking about providing value by giving them additional training, content and other tools and resources they need to build their business, and some of those people will make the decision to join you in your business. This means your list is segmented into two different types of customers, people who have qualified themselves at different levels of interest. Each group has different needs and therefore you can make different offers to them. Some of that list is your company organization, and part of the list will have their own company, but with a need and a desire for your help, your content, and your expertise.

The bottom line is that your MLM is NOT the only thing your customers want or need, so if that’s all you are offering, and if you are only looking for those interested in your MLM, or if you are only promoting your MLM and not yourself and all that you have to offer, then you are leaving out an entire group of people that you could be working with, and monetizing from.

If you provide value… good useful content that will help others no matter what business they are in, they are going to want to be your subscribers and your customers… and some of them will ask to join you in your business. Maybe not today, but someday, and in many cases, someday very soon.

Thanks,

Brett Gurney
