Do you want to create a brand online?

Try content marketing and get yourself noticed. There are two things that I learned early in my internet marketing career that must be done to even think about becoming successful online - Getting Seen, and Becoming Known.

With content marketing strategies you can accomplish both those things.

Content marketing is inexpensive, and it's easy (if you like writing and creating stuff). It's also a true investment in your business that can pay off over and over again, for years to come. You can literally create content today and have it still working for you a year from now ... or even 5 years from now. They call it marketing, but it's really just about teaching and educating interested parties on some subject. Teaching and engaging people ...bringing them into your fold by providing useful content.

It's a simple concept

Do you remember having a favorite teacher in school because they taught cool stuff that actually meant something to you? Stuff that you could use in real life. Stuff that might benefit you in some way? Or how about that friend who was unique and that always had something interesting going on. You were always open to hearing what they were up to right? You may even have thought that you could learn some things from that person.

Consider the 5 points below to get you started with content marketing. Start your journey of becoming that go-to person for some of you contacts.

1. Choose A Topic

Everyone is good at something .... everyone has something to share on some given subject ...everyone has something to contribute that others can get some use from.

2. Create a Website for Your Content

You have to have a home for your content. A central place you can send people, so they know who you are and what you are about. Your website is your home base. This is where you will drive traffic either through free marketing or paid advertising. Consider it your hub that everything else will link to or link from. It doesn't matter if you have a bricks and mortar business or if you are strictly online. Sending traffic to your website is what get's them in the door.

content marketing

3. Create Your Content in Multiple Formats

This is where it gets fun. You can take the same material and spin and twist it over and over again into different formats and different delivery methods ... always keeping it fresh and new. Each time you will come up with new stuff to add, or a better way to say it ... or a better way to show it. It develops into a new creation every time. This is how you re-purpose your content. Imagine ... blog posts and articles, short reports, eBooks, videos, and podcasts. These are all types of content that you can and should should utilize.

4. Build Your Email List

The money is in the list. Yes we do hear that all the time don't we? Over and over again. So are you building a list? Have you learned how to build a list? Using content marketing is an excellent way to do it. Show people good value and they want more. Once you get people to opt-in to your list trust me you will not have trouble knowing what to send them next. One great method is to use others people stuff. Spin it into your own words and put your brand on it. You don't copy and paste. You use other peoples material to get you started ... to get the gears turning in your brain ... and take it from there. Makes sense right?

5. Market Content on Social Media

Well of course! You are on social media ... I am on social media ... everyone is on social media. So use it to your benefit! Share everything on social media, and the great thing about content marketing is that it doesn't get boring. You are mixing up all your delivery methods. Nothing is ever the same. Share your blog posts, your how-to vidoes, your explainer videos, your voice over videos... there are so many different variations of videos and thats the #1 method today. AND ... put share buttons on everything! When your content becomes so good that people start to share it on social medis... then you know you are well on your way.

content marketing

Now .. rinse and repeat

You will develop a style and a routine that gets easier and easier. You might start with a blog post, turn it into a podcast, then a video of you, then a power point type video with voice-over. You can take your blog post and turn it into several social media posts. Bring images into the mix. Brand your images with your name and website domain. You get the idea right?

Content Marketing - the simple strategy of sharing material in different formats that people find useful and benefit from.

How Does Using PLR Help Me Build My Business ?

Private Label Rights are licenses that can be purchased granting you ownership of content. In our case, we will be talking about digital or online content. Purchasing the rights to content usually consist of Using PLReBooks, articles, blog posts, and sometimes eCourses and videos. Using PLR is a great way for a person to take over ownership of content that they did not create.

Who Should Use PLR?

This can be especially helpful for a new marketer who is just getting started online, or someone who knows the value of putting out valuable material on a consistent basis. Someone who is learning can use PLR material to assemble a library of info products for example. Anyone that knows the importance of self-branding and providing value to the marketplace may find leverage in using PLR to get themselves started. They will learn as they go, become known for providing useful material, and establish themselves as a good go-to person for information.

Choose PLR That Is Relevant To Your Chosen Niche

If you are studying internet marketing and brand recognition online then you may have learned about the benefits to having or choosing a particular niche or topic that you stay within and focus on. Therefore you would want to acquire content within that niche. There are many to choose from but it’s a good idea to stay within an area that you are already familiar with or have knowledge or interest in. This will help you graduate from using PLR and go on to creating your own content quicker. Your niche can be anything. Health related or finance related, or marketing related, or anything else.

Learn Where and How To Find High-Quality PLR

If you google your niche you will always find content and you will most likely bump into some PLR content before too long. You don’t have to grab the first thing you find…it may be low-quality material or overpriced. Do some searching and studying and look for PLR writers or providers who have a professional presence online. There are also some well-known websites that a lot of affiliate marketers use for selling their digital products, some of which will be PLR. JVZoo, Warrior Forum, Warrior Plus, ClickBank, and MunchEye are just a few that come to mind. After a while, you’ll begin to recognize familiar names and you’ll acquire some favorites.

Repackaging Your PLR

This is important. You are establishing an identity and a brand online. Therefore you want to find your own voice and your own style. Don’t use PLR as it is, repackage it instead. There are many ways to repackage content, but even if you just rewrite an article using your own words to say the same thing, you are then making it yours and giving it your own voice. Spin it, repackage it, rewrite it, make it yours. This is a great way to learn the content and to perfect your writing or video skills.

Use Your Content To Build Your ListUsing PLR

Take a piece of your new PLR content that has value, and use it as a barter for another person’s email address. This is how you build a list. It could be just an article, or a short email or newsletter series. Even the first chapter of an eBook works very well for this. As long as it has value and is enticing you can offer it in exchange for an email address. You can also learn how to develop an attractive lead capture page for promoting your freebie. Once you have an email list then you can promote higher value information products to that list. Some may be free, and some you might want to sell.

Using PLR As A Guide To Getting You Started

This is something that you will want to get better at as you go, and I spoke of it briefly already above. I use PLR to simply get me started and help me get my creative juices flowing. Using other people’s ideas and beginning words is often times enough for me to then just take off with it. It truly becomes mine as it doesn’t even resemble the original by the time I’m done with it. In fact, when you get good at this you can use any material it does not have to be PLR because you are simply using the other person’s content as research. You are doing the actual writing in your own thoughts, your own words, and your own style. It is yours. The original simply helped you with the idea and helped you get started, and you take it from there.

After I write my articles I continue to repackage, creating videos and audios, blog posts, facebook posts, and eBooks. I’ll even take it further and use a paragraph or an idea from my original, and drill down into that one subject and write about it in more detail. You can rewrite a good article many times over and have it become new original content every time.

So you see, using PLR can be a very effective and efficient way for building your brand online.

Sounds odd right?

But taking just a few action steps regardless if they are pretty and shiny or not, can really get you somewhere.

I talk about this a lot because I see far too many people stall and never get going thinking they have to be an expert at something. They are afraid it’s not going to be good enough, but it is .. it really is good enough.

There are so many things that you can do to start branding yourself online. Start writing or start doing some videos .. anything …even facebook posts can get you going. It’s ok…. you’ll get better, and more comfortable as you go. The main thing is to get your name out there as much and as often as possible. If others recognize your name when they see it, even if they don’t know from where, then you are doing something right. You are on the right path.

The key is doing it consistently.

Keep going and never stop and things will get better you’ll start becoming known and you’ll start getting recognized as on online marketer, blogger, or video person. Branding yourself is so key to making it online I cannot stress this enough. If you can get your name to click or register in people’s minds simply because they see you around often enough, then they are going to think you are good even if you’re not good.

Don’t read too much into that last statement about not being good. I was just driving home a point. You will be good enough and you will get better just by repeating over and over … until you are great. It just happens that way. You will progress and develop.

It doesn’t even matter if you have a perfectly clear path or plan yet. Most don’t when they start, but that’s how you create one. Your actions will take you where you need to go and it will all become clearer in your mind as you progress and get better. You will find your strengths because we all have them. Sometimes they are just hidden.

Nothing can replace teaching yourself how to market online by doing it and learning as you go. That’s the branding yourselftrue definition of developing yourself the skills of the trade. No one can ever take away your knowledge and once you learn about branding yourself and how to market online you can market anything you want. You can build any company or sell any product you want.

Branding yourself online is the best thing you can possibly do for yourself.

Nothing compares. Sure there are some plug and play deals out there that are good, but nothing replaces you becoming the CEO of you. If a person depends on a system, what happens when or if the system goes away. We know the answer to that … you start all over from zero. So build you …not some other company .. and not depending on a system to build for you … but build you. If there’s a system you can plug your team into, that’s great use it …but at the same time, encourage your team to learn how to market online and how to get yourself out there and get yourself known.

Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in a rut with your online marketing methods not working?

Are you doing the same things over and over with little to no results?

That gets old and frustrating …am I right?

Well, it’s not you…. or maybe I should say it’s not just you. It’s something that many of us are feeling now. Truth be told, a lot of the marketing methods that used to work online, just don’t work anymore. Times are changing…. the internet is a fast moving vehicle and what worked yesterday might not work today.

Nowadays, it’s not good enough, to be just good enough. Nowadays you must be better. The competition is brutal. Everyone’s getting in on the act and it’s like a swarm of bees out there.

There are so many “new” people online trying to do the deal, that it’s real easy to get lost in the crowd. Marketing MethodsEveryone trying to market the same way…. the same old way. However… this can work to your advantage. If you are just a “little better” not only will you not get lost in the crowd, but you’ll shine in the crowd.

Do things exemplary, and you’ll be like a shining beacon. The good part…. it’s not difficult to be better. It’s just a matter of knowing what needs to be done to be better.

Back in the day when you could simply place an ad just about anywhere, attract consumers, and make sales are long gone. People have become numb to the overabundance of ads more recently. Today’s marketing methods are all about “attraction and connections.”

In the remainder of this post, I’m going to bring your attention to some of those marketing methods that can create the “attraction and connections” that are so much needed in this day and age.

Responsive Websites – What do I mean by responsive websites? Mobile optimized. In case you didn’t know, the world has gone mobile. Or at least half of it has. Mobile technology is the now and the future. If your websites are not mobile responsive, you are losing your shirt tails to those whose sites are mobile responsive.

Social Media – Everyone is aware of social media, and most people are on social media, but not everyone knows how to use it to their benefit when it comes to business and marketing. It’s not enough to just join Facebook, you have to also participate. You must present yourself as a person who is there to market and who is serious about it. That means filling out your profiles completely, showing your brand in a good positive light, sharing your content regularly, sharing other people’s content regularly, engaging with other people regularly with likes and comments, participating in discussions and conversations in groups and on pages, and creating relationships with those who have something in common with you. Participation is key.Marketing Methods

Teach Something – The minute you show you have knowledge in something, and you are willing to share that knowledge with others, you become an authority figure that others will follow. Teaching something breaks down barriers, get’s people’s attention, fills a need and a void, and it shows people you are bringing value to the marketplace. Everyone is good at something. You don’t have to be an expert, you just have to know more than most of your audience, on any given subject.

Become an Author – Whatever your niche or your topic is…. whatever you are good at, you can write about it. Providing information, tutorials, stories, examples, resources, and marketing techniques are just a few of the formats you can write on. Authoring a book is an exceptional way to bring attention to you and your business. The costs are extremely low, but the results can be highly effective. Pay particular attention to the quality of the cover. It should be professional and appealing and this will go a long way.

Use Videos – People love videos and they have come to expect them…. they often look for videos when Marketing Methodsthey are surfing about for information. Video marketing has exploded recently and a lot of networkers consider using videos in their campaigns to be mandatory. There are different types of videos and you can make your own, or easily outsource it. Sales videos, explaindio videos, tutorial videos, videos that tell a story, product launch and review videos, how-to videos, company management introduction videos, team training videos, and the list goes on.

Special Landing Pages & Funnels – Nothing get’s the attention of a potential prospect more than a smooth flowing funnel that takes a person on a tour to get all the information they need, before ever having to talk to anyone. This shows them they are dealing with a professional marketer who knows their stuff and has something to offer. Keep in mind there’s more to it than just the funnel …you still have to make yourself available. There will always be human interaction required, but if you couple a funnel with the other items listed here today, you’ll have your prospects in the bag before you ever even speak with them, and when you do speak with them, you’ll know you’re talking to someone who’s already highly interested in whatever you are offering.

And finally, Mix up Your Delivery – Use a variety of different forms of content delivery on your blog and/or website. Don’t just use text – use video, podcasts, audio and more to give your visitors a lot of ways to consume your content. People have different preferences and different likes and dislikes when it comes to how they best absorb information. You just give them a variety to choose from.

So if your online efforts have stagnated and producing little results, try utilizing the marketing methods mentioned above and see if you can take to a next level.

So what is good writing content, and why should I care?

Good writing content, contrary to some people’s understanding, can make all the difference in your marketing results. If practiced and done efficiently, will boost opt-ins, conversions, and sales. That is the entire point of getting good at something, am I right? …. it’s all about the end resultGood Writing Content.

If you’re not testing though, you’ll never know if your writing content is getting good. Something might look
better, or feel better, but the result is the true indicator. So you have to test… that’s all there is to it. You have to evaluate, double-check, and test test test.

Here’s a list of things that make up good writing content, so test them regularly. Some might seem obvious, others might get overlooked. Having a list of stuff to check never hurts, so here you go.

1. Make Good Headlines – There are good headlines, and not so good headlines, but how do you know? An A/B test will tell you. Send two different headlines, each to half your list.

2. Have a Good Offer – What you think is a good offer, others might not…so test more than one and keep the winner.

3. Responsive Copy Format – What do I mean by this? Responsive copy format means it will fit and be eligible and look good on all devices. As many people are on mobile now as are on PC. Make sure your copy works on all devices… if you’re not sure, test it.

4. Good Copywriting – The copy should flow and lead a person. Keeping someone’s attention and on the Good Writing Content page is quite critical, wouldn’t you say? Test it. Take snippets of the copy and share it on your favorite social media platforms. See what kind of response or engagement you get. Are the words good, do they grab people?

5. Your delivery – I’m constantly testing and trying new marketing tools, systems, and techniques. The internet is fast-moving and nothing stays the same. What works today might not work tomorrow. Keep up with the current trends and use the mediums that are converting.

6. Have Good Eye Popping Graphics – This is huge. It’s been shown and proven that good graphics increase conversions many times over. Test your graphics. Simple A/B testing, changing nothing but the graphics, will tell you a lot.

7. System Functionality – This seems obvious but it is often overlooked. Make sure your website works, your links work, your redirects work, your autoresponders work, your checkout processes work, etc, etc. Is it user-friendly and smooth flowing? Make sure.

8. Present Facts – Double check your work for accuracy. Do your homework before posting anything you’re not sure about. Never go on hear-say there’s nothing more annoying to people than reading stuff they know is not accurate.

9. Keep It Simple – If your content is difficult to read and understand no one is going to stick around. You might be an intellect but not everyone is. If your words are long and complex, change them to short and easy to read. Keep it simple and flowing and you’ll keep people’s interest far longer.

10. Solve Problems – People want solutions, so you want to provide answers. Your audience won’t be interested in what you have or what you are offering if there’s not something in it for them. If your copy satisfies a need, keep it. If it doesn’t, change it.

11. Good Spelling and Grammar – Yes it matters. regardless of where you are posting…. social media, good writing contentblogging, article, websites… use your spell check and read it back to yourself more than once. If it’s awkward, make it not awkward. Keep it flowing… this takes practice but you’ll get better.

12. Sequences Are Good – If they are in the proper order and flow. If you are teaching, or explaining something that requires a series of action or events, make sure you give the correct sequence and easy to follow directions. You’ll lose people fast if they can’t follow and get lost.

13. Keep It Above The Fold – What does this mean? No matter where your material is, the important good stuff goes at the top, or you need very specific and clear instructions for people to scroll to the highlight. You have about 10 seconds to grab someone’s attention.

14. Make It Original – Last but not least. It’s ok to use other people’s material to get you going and put the thoughts in your head. This is called research. But don’t copy and paste. Google knows it and so do your readers. Take this article for example. All this material did not just pop into my head when I sat down to write… I’m not that smart. I have material to reference…. but…. everything I write is in my own words. I take other people’s material and make it mine. That’s ok to do… put it in your own words and use the other material as memory joggers.

If you are not sure that you changed things up enough, or you are concerned about grammar, you can use these resources to find out.

Links:
Grammarly – https://www.grammarly.com/
Copyscape – https://www.copyscape.com/

Good writing content comes with practice. It doesn’t have to be perfect and being too critical can freeze you. Just start writing and pumping out some content. The rest will take care of itself.

Quality Content is King to the content marketer… but what consists of “quality”?

Quality ContentSome of the content I see being published is not only less than what I would consider quality…it just sucks. Including my own at times. Few people are natural writers so it takes effort . Content should be useful …. it should be entertaining, intriguing, or educational. It should have personality and meaning. Lifeless content that really serves no purpose would not be considered quality content.

Maybe this will help….

Make it Useful – serves a purpose…has meaning. If you can imagine starting with the words “How To” and continuing from there. Can you see how this would give the material meaning. Solving problems and providing solutions to different scenario’s that will give a reader a feeling of having learned something when they are done reading, holds much value…. to the readers and to the search engines.

Keep it Interesting – Give it personality and flavor… don’t copy someone’s elses writings people can see right through that. Be yourself and develop your own style. You can be funny, opinionated, enthusiastic, it’s ok. That’s what gives it character. If someone wants nothing but straight facts they can go to Wikipedia or some other facts site. It’s better to be personal than strictly professional. It takes practice to develop a writing style so just start writing. I know I sure need to practice that’s why I do it so much… Eventually it will flow in your own words. It’s ok to use someone elses material for ideas to get you going… but don’t copy and paste whatever you do… mix it up, re-arrange, and put it into your words.

The Cookie Factor – I saw this explanation somewhere online and it makes sense. When you are creating content that is of value, informative, and educational you are building Cookie Content. That’s quality content that inherently rewards the reader for consuming or sharing it. Creating content that compels the reader to share is the ultimate… when you quality-content-jpgaccomplish that you are in the game. There is nothing more powerful than words that readers feel driven to share.

It’s all about branding and building an audience right? … so what’s more influential to that than creating good quality content? Nothing. Good content builds audiences faster than anything else and will get you to where you want to be. It’s not easy. It takes work and it takes practice, but if you commit to it you can do it. Building your brand and your following does not happen overnight so don’t expect it to… but if you work at it consistently it get’s easier.

Give some thought to the kinds of problems your audience may need help with. What’s bothering them, what are they struggling with in their business, what tips or tricks or shortcuts could help them along, where can they be directed for more and better answers than they are getting now.

You get the idea. Now go create some good quality content for your readers and followers.
